What can be referred as an act of sheer brutality recently occurred in Benue state as unknown gunmen, suspected to be thugs of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) killed eleven teachers in Chito, Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to Daily Post, the deceased were preparing to attend the Labour Congress meeting holding in Makurdi when the unfortunate incident occurred.
It was gathered that the gunmen allegedly opened fire on the teachers after a man they were pursuing ran into their midst.
Investigations revealed that, the alleged PDP thugs embarked on the dastardly act after their fellow members absconded with money meant to be shared among them.
However, the media outfit reports that efforts to reach the State Commissioner of police, Mr Hycinth Dagala proved abortive, as a call put across to him was answered by another officers who said the Commissioner was in a meeting.
This tragic development comes days after it was reported that Fulani cattle herders killed about 70 Christians in Plateau State, including one pastor.
